Life can be challenging, and at times it can feel overwhelming to navigate life's struggles alone. My goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate, and practical environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
I am Steve Geisler, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals, couples, adolescents, and families overcome life's most difficult challenges. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health, hospice care, child welfare, and private practice. These experiences have given me the opportunity to help people facing trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, autism, chronic illness, and major life transitions.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, honest, and solution-focused. I believe every person already possesses strengths that can become the foundation for healing and growth. Rather than simply talking about problems, I work alongside my clients to develop practical skills, healthier thought patterns, emotional resilience, and lasting solutions that can be applied in everyday life.
I am trained in several evidence-based treatment approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I tailor each treatment plan to meet the unique needs, goals, and experiences of every client.
I have a particular passion for helping individuals recover from trauma, heal after emotionally abusive or narcissistic relationships, strengthen marriages and intimate relationships, overcome compulsive sexual behaviors and pornography addiction, and support autistic adults—especially women who may have gone years without understanding why they felt different. I also enjoy helping clients build confidence, improve communication, establish healthy boundaries, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
Clients often describe me as approachable, compassionate, genuine, and easy to talk with. I believe therapy doesn't have to feel intimidating. While we address difficult topics with honesty and professionalism, I also believe healing can include hope, encouragement, humor, and celebrating progress along the way.
At Courage Point Counseling & Wellness, my mission is simple: to provide a safe place where people can find clarity, develop courage, and create lasting change. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship concerns, trauma, grief, addiction, or simply feeling stuck, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing.
You don't have to face life's challenges alone. Healing begins with one courageous step, and I'm here to help you take it.
